104

So what do you do when it's a 104 degrees outside? You set up a tent in your living room of course! And you go on a train ride where it's 108 at the train station!

Happy 4th Birthday Little Guy

Newborn
First Birthday
Second Birthday
Third Birthday
Preschool Celebration Today

Drew amazes me. I can't believe 4 years have gone by since being in the hospital and staring at this sweet little boy for the first time. Our lives were forever changed and each birthday it is fun to look back and see how he's grown and changed. This year was the most excited he's been for a birthday. It's been so much fun to see the pure joy and excitement as we counted down to the big day. Last night at dinner I used a sad voice and told him I was sad that his birthday was tomorrow. Here's roughly how the conversation went:
Drew- Mama, why are you so sad?
Me- Because you're not going to be my baby boy anymore, you'll be 4.
Drew- Mama, Don't be sad, Leyla's still your baby and I have to be a big boy now.

Which of course, he's right but I always get a little misty eyed on each of their birthdays. I'm excited for what's ahead, glad that some of the hard times are in the past, but look back at their chunky toddler hands, rubber band wrists and remember how little they were. You really want to just bottle them up and not forget those times!

Drew also told me last night while walking down the street that he's going to be a better listener when he turns 4 since he'll be order, it'll be easier for him to listen and that sometimes he gets frustrated but now that he's older he won't get frustrated as much! We'll see what the year ahead holds for us. For now, I'm savoring the day and just taking him in.

Genious Idea

Another mom sent me an email sharing this product and as a mother I felt I had to share too. I of course ordered a set right away since I have two small kids who don't necessarily stay next to me all the time. These tattoo are a great way to keep a phone number but not a name on your child in case they get separated from you in a busy place. I have written my cell phone number on Drew's arm when we've gone to Disneyland but it always washes off at our first bathroom stop. Here's some interesting but scary facts found on the website:

  • 90% of families will experience losing a child in a public place
  • Kids get lost most often in malls and stores
  • 27% of families that visit an amusement park lose a child while they are there
To order go to www.safetytat.com

They have boy tats, girl tats, autism tats, peanut allergy tats, etc....

Love at first Bite

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Meg, you'd be proud, I Finally tried Pinkberry today for the first time. I know, I know I'm really late on the bandwagon but there isn't one close by and I've been staying close to home with these crazy gas prices. I have tried Red Mango and I think the verdict is.....I'll take either depending where I am. I won't make an extra trip to go to either store in particular but if I happen to be near a Pinkberry or Red Mango it looks like I'll be treating myself to some yummy and not to mention healthy frozen yogurt. These stores totally beat out Golden Spoon in my book. The line was about 10 people deep, but Bob and the kids were patient and let me get my Mother's Day treat without any complaining. Drew LOVED it and Leyla liked the swivel chairs.

It was a great weekend. Bob totally took care of me and was great all weekend especially since he had to deal with my birthday and mother's day all in one shot! Love you and Thank you. You're the best hubby and Daddio!

May 9th

This is what I woke up to this morning.

In case you can't tell, the first picture is of my bathroom mirror. Bob had written on it before I got up this morning! He's awesome!

Thanks to everyone who emailed and called to make my day special! The day ended perfectly with my favorite birthday dessert, mom's warm homemade blackberry pie and vanilla ice cream. YUMMY!!! But what really made my day was Drew singing Happy Birthday to me and all the hugs and kisses that came with it.

Cool Video

Make sure you stop the music (under Tunes) before playing the video... And make sure you have sound as you'll want to hear the music that goes with the video.

Ladies Lunch

I FINALLY got to meet Baby Audrey and she is sweet as ever. Audrey seemed so tiny compared to my BIG Leyla. I'm so glad my friend Kristin is in town with her little girl and that I was able to see them. Tracy met us in Carlsbad so we could all have lunch together, just like the old ADP days, we're just missing Meg and Shae. Always fun to get together with old friends especially since everybody seems to have moved away. Now it's just Shae and I left in O.C..... Kristin looks great and of course was working out right after Audrey was born. Tracy is the cutest prego Mama ever and we can't wait to meet her little bambino in August. The little ADP family is growing!!! Love you girls!!!!!! So lucky to have such great friends.
