Where do I begin....... This posting would be a lot funnier if Stacy were to tell it but here goes. Eight women from our book club went to see the highly acclaimed play Wicked up in Los Angeles at the Pantages Theatre. We park behind the theatre and decide to walk up Hollywood Blvd to look for a place to eat lunch before the play. Mind you it's only 10:45 Am so not much is open yet. As we're walking up Hollywood Blvd (which ended up being almost a mile) towards the Kodak Theater we all notice this man with a camera at every intersection taking pictures but thankfully not of us. There are a lot of tourists with cameras since it is Hollywood so we didn't think anything of it at first, but this guy happens to be in front of us at every intersection. We all start wondering how does he get in front of us without any of us noticing but then again we are 8 women walking and talking, so it's really not that hard. We never figured out crazy camera guy but it made for a fun walk to lunch.
Once inside the restaurant we all get our drinks and the waiter asks us, "Where are you all from?" and the conversation goes something like this:
"We are from down south"
"Oh, Carlsbad?"
"No, the OC"
"Oh"
"Yeah, we're the REAL Housewives of Orange County" another friend pipes up "Yeah, because we all have REAL ........" (which wasn't exactly true but not everyone needs to know everyone's business)
Don't remember his reply or how the conversation ended but we were all laughing and having a great time.
After lunch we notice the time and realize it's not a short walk back to theatre so we start to run. Poor Valerie is shoving napkins in her shoes since she started to get blisters from the walk to lunch, Robin is carrying her "purse" which is her breast pump bag and has the wrong shoes on as well, and another friend who contemplated running into Victoria's Secret to buy a bra because she feels her top is too tight and she wants to change into her other top but she'd need a bra for that top. This is what makes us the real housewives!
So the play was wonderful and we head home. I thought that was the end of the story but the next week at Bunco I hear another crazy story from the ride home. Apparently one of the cars got quite a show on I-5. There was a crazy motorcycle guy doing all sorts of handstands and stunts right in front of their car on the freeway. Needless to say they had an exciting drive home.
I want to thank crazy camera guy, our interesting waiter who gave poor food descriptions, the great cast of Wicked, crazy motorcycle guy, and all the ladies for such a fun and memorable day!!!
